This page is a collection of miscellaneous French 65 mm (2.56") [9-pdr] guns, none of which were of much importance. As detailed information for these guns is limited, rather than creating a page for each one, I have decided to combine them into a single page.
These older guns were the next step up from the 57 mm [6-pdr] Hotchkiss guns and were used as anti-torpedo boat guns on large ships. Fired a 9.0 lbs. (4.1 kg) projectile at a muzzle velocity of 2,346 fps (715 mps). Some of these were still in service in 1939. Actual bore length was 49.2 calibers. Some were transferred to the Army for use in the Maginot Line fortifications.
